How much money does Rob Halford have?

Rob Halford is an English singer and songwriter with a net worth of $10 million. Rob Halford is best known as the lead singer of Judas Priest, a heavy metal band. He’s also worked on Halford, Fight, and Two, which are all side projects. Halford is known for his diverse vocal skills as well as his signature leather-and-studs stage outfit.

Early Years

Rob Halford was born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England, on August 25, 1951, and grew up in Walsall, in the Beechdale housing estate. He grew up listening to performers like Robert Plant, Little Richard, Janis Joplin, and Elvis Presley, all of whom had a significant effect on his subsequent work.

1973-1992: Judas Priest

When Halford was working as the manager of a pornographic movie theater in the early 1970s, he met Ian Hill, the co-founder and bassist of the heavy metal band Judas Priest. Hill was dating Halford’s sister Sue at the time. Following that, Halford joined the band as lead vocalist, bringing with him drummer John Hinch, who had previously worked with him in Hiroshima. Halford and Hinch first performed with Judas Priest at the Townhouse in Wellington, England, in 1973. “Rocka Rolla,” Judas Priest’s first studio album, was released the following year. “Sad Wings of Destiny,” “Sin After Sin,” “Stained Class,” “Killing Machine,” “Unleashed in the East,” “British Steel,” “Point of Entry,” “Screaming for Vengeance,” “Defenders of the Faith,” “Turbo,” and “Ram it Down” were among the albums Halford fronted throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

In 1990, Halford added a variety of additional tattoos to his signature leather-and-studs look, including an oblique Judas Priest cross on his right arm and a ring around his other arm. He also began shaving his head at this time. “Painkiller,” the band’s eleventh studio album, was released in 1990. Halford famously came onto the stage on a massive Harley-Davidson motorbike on the last night of the album’s tour in 1991. Halford collided with a drum riser, fell off the bike, and fractured his nose when the machine malfunctioned. The band played the first song while he was out for a brief time; he then awoke and helped complete the concert. Halford departed Judas Priest in May 1992 and sued the band’s label, Sony, for unfair business practices.

Two, Fight, and Halford

Halford established the heavy metal band Fight alongside Scott Travis, Jack Brown, Brian Tilse, and Russ Parrish after leaving Judas Priest. “War of Words,” the group’s first album, was released in 1993. In 1994, the EP “Mutations” was released. Fight’s last album, “A Small Deadly Space,” was released in 1995 and had a grungier sound than the band’s prior metal releases. The band then disbanded. Three members of Fight reunited for a one-off concert in 1997.

Two, an industrial metal band Halford created with guitarist John Lowery in 1997, was one of his other side ventures. “Voyeurs,” the group’s lone album, was released in 1998. Halford formed his self-titled solo band the next year, returning to his metal origins. He released the albums “Resurrection” in 2000 and “Crucible” in 2002. “Halford III: Winter Songs” was released in 2009, followed by “Halford IV: Made of Metal” in 2010.

The album “Angel of Retribution” was released after that. “Nostradamus,” “A Touch of Evil: Live,” “Redeemer of Souls,” “Battle Cry,” and “Firepower” are among the band’s later albums. The latter, which debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 in 2018, became Judas Priest’s highest-charting album in the United States. It was also the band’s first top-ten album in the United Kingdom since 1980’s “British Steel.”

Additional Live Performances

Aside from Judas Priest and his various endeavors, Halford has performed live with a variety of bands. He was the lead singer for Black Sabbath for three gigs. He joined Sum 41 for a broadcast MTV event in 2001. Metallica, Pantera, Pansy Division, and Babymetal are among the bands with whom Halford has shared the stage.

Appearances in Other Media

Halford has appeared in films, television shows, and video games, among other things. He starred as a sex store worker in the dark comedy crime thriller “Spun” in 2003. He then voiced a few of characters in the video game “Brütal Legend” in 2009.

Health and Personal Life

Halford came out as homosexual on MTV in 1998. He is married to Thomas, whom he started seeing in 1991. Halford splits his time between the United States and Walsall, England, where he was born.

Halford lived with despair for many years while disguising his sexual identity. As a consequence, he got more reliant on drink and narcotics, and he became increasingly aggressive. He went to rehab in 1986 after using too many pills. Halford has supposedly remained sober since then, which has greatly enhanced his live performances.

Halford disclosed in 2021 that he had fought prostate cancer while under COVID lockdown. He received a successful prostatectomy and radiation treatments, as well as an appendectomy.
