Gary Francis Poste Wiki – Biography of Gary Francis Poste
In the search for the Zodiac Murderer, a serial killer who terrorized the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1960s, Gary Francis Poste has been identified as a possible new candidate.
The case has always intrigued true crime fans due to the mysterious messages and ciphers the murderer delivered to police and The San Francisco Chronicle at the time. It has been the topic of many books, documentaries, television programs, and films, the most well-known of which being David Fincher’s dramatization starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jake Gyllenhaal.
At the time of his death, he was between the ages of 75 and 85.
Murder of Cheri Jo Bates
The Case Breakers, according to Fox News, identified the unnamed serial murderer as Gary Francis Poste, who died in 2018. The Case Breakers also think Poste murdered Cheri Jo Bates, 18, on October 31, 1966, in Riverside, California, hundreds of miles away from the notorious killings in San Francisco.
Bates was murdered years before the five slayings attributed to the Zodiac Killer, who bragged about his crimes in coded messages delivered to cops and the media.
After more than 50 years, the Zodiac Killer has been discovered.

Report of the Investigators
Jen Bucholtz, an ex-Army counterintelligence agent, told Fox News that the group deciphered communications that strongly indicate Poste is the Zodiac Killer, including one in which Poste’s entire name was deleted to convey a totally new message.
“In order to decode these anagrams, you’ll need to know Gary’s entire name.” “I simply don’t believe anybody could have figured it out any other way,” she told the news organization.
Bates was discovered dead in an alleyway on the Riverside City College campus after her father reported her missing, according to Fox. Police received a letter a year after her death that prompted them to investigate the Zodiac Killer. In 2016, police received a typed letter from someone claiming to have written the final message and that it was a “sick joke,” according to reports.

The cold case section of the Riverside Police Department advised Fox not to think the Zodiac Killer killed Bates in 1966. The Case Breakers, on the other hand, think Poste is to blame for Bates’ death and have encouraged law authorities to match DNA from her crime scene to Poste’s.
Despite Riverside police’s statements to Fox, The Case Breakers claims to have obtained a 1975 FBI letter to Riverside police indicating that Bates was a victim of the Zodiac.
Poste and the murderer had a number of other characteristics, according to the organization. Detectives in Bates’ investigation allegedly found a heel from a military-style boot that matched Poste’s shoe size and type. Poste was also an Air Force veteran who sought medical attention for a gun-related incident at a hospital 15 minutes away from where Bates was murdered.
The Case Breakers stated in a statement that a “outlaw-turned-whistleblower” informed them of the new developments, which include a volunteer team discovering more murder sites that may be connected to the Zodiac Killer.
“The traitor claims to have eluded the Zodiac’s criminal ‘posse,’ spending decades wandering the mountains. He claims he’s embarrassed and furious now that he’s in his 50s. The statement says, ‘He trained me into a murdering machine.’
The Case Breakers told Fox that the whistleblower was a man called Wil, who claimed to have seen Poste bury the murder weapons in the woods.
According to the Case Breakers, they were given a secluded site to dig up firearms in the hopes of solving this decades-old mystery.
