Abduction and beheading of David Haynes
David Haynes was kidnapped in March 2013 by the militant group Islamic State in Iraq and the Levites (ISIL) while working for an aid team as an unarmed worker providing technical assistance to refugees on the Turkish border and in Syria’s Idlib province. He was in the car when the gunmen shot, surrounded them and kidnapped David Haynes and an Italian worker, leaving the Syrian interpreter and driver behind.
The British government and the Foreign Office requested that his family not speak publicly about the abduction of David Haines and informed the British media that news of David Haines’ abduction by Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) should not be made public and that his identity should be kept secret for his safety. However, when the international press learned that a British aid worker had been captured by Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the British media decided to reveal the identity of David Haines.
The video of Steven Sotlow’s execution mentioned that the next possible victim of decapitation would be David Haines, a British aid worker captured in Idlib, Syria. After the declaration was issued, the British government tried to negotiate, but it was completely impossible because the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) demanded a withdrawal from the coalitions of American and British armies and their Arab allies, which was unacceptable to America and Britain at the time. Moreover, the British Army and its allies twice tried to rescue David Haines, but each time the fighters of Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) got lucky and escaped before their time, because each time information was leaked before the military operation.
On the 13th. September 2014, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levites (ISIL) released a video of David Haines being beheaded, sending a message to British Prime Minister David Cameron: Stop interfering with our Islamic State or you will face serious consequences from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levites (ISIL). The executioner Mohammed Emwazi (Jihadi John) then began to decapitate David Haynes with a knife and slit his throat. After the murder of David Haines, the executioner Mohammed Emwazi (Jihadi John) showed a British nationalist (Allan Henning) as a development worker at the end of the video and named him as the next possible victim (beheading) of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (EIIL) if David Cameron does not withdraw from his army with his allies.
After this brutal murder, leaders in Britain and around the world condemned this inhumane act as the innocent murder of a social worker who worked for the good of humanity.
After the death of David Haynes, the daughter decided to travel to Syria and bring back what was left of her father. To do this, she contacted everyone who knew anything about David Haynes or his body. She also enlisted the help of an Italian aid worker who had been kidnapped along with David Haynes, but was later released.
His memorial was inaugurated on the 22nd. October 2016 built in a garden near Perth station.
